Maisie was born in 1936 and was living with her family in London when war broke out. She left London for Street when attacks by V1 Rockets began in the summer of 1944.
Eventually she settled in Street with her parents and still lives there today. In 1951 Maisie went to work for Clark’s. She married Harold in 1958.
Harold was a child living with his family near Langport during the war. He remembers the evacuees who were welcomed into the family home, including twin boys from Surrey. After the war the twins stayed in contact and often returned to Somerset.
